Company History The Hope Group was founded in Hope, RI before the turn of the century. By the 1930's it was known as the Hope Rubber Company with its main location in Fitchburg, MA. During the 1950's the primary market concentration was industrial rubber and power transmission products. Fluid Connectors and Air Compressors During the 1960’s the company underwent a lot of growth adding fluid connectors, stationary air compressors and other industrial product lines. It became a distributor of Parker Hannifin fluid power, fluid connector, pneumatic and seal products.Through various expansions and acquisitions, The Hope Group emerged during the 1970’s and 1980’s as New England’s leading independent industrial distributor. Growth was reflected in member companies that included The Leen Company, headquartered in Maine and Bosworth Fluid Connectors, headquartered in Rhode Island. Parker Stores In addition, as part of The Hope Group’s commitment to providing its customers with superior customer service, it established 6 Parker Store locations. They are in Bangor and Portland, Maine; Manchester, New Hampshire, Fitchburg, Massachusetts and Cranston, Rhode Island. Together with the principal stocking location in Northboro, Massachusetts, The Hope Group provides a $ 5.5 million industrial inventory, backed by an additional $ 40 million national inventory accessed via its affiliation with Distranet.
