Gethal was founded in 1946, oriented for the production plywood shapes. In 1979 a joint venture was established with a German company, since then, the efforts were concentrated in the production of equipments to be used in systems for the civil construction industry. The systems were very succesfull in its segment, and in 1992 the division that produced plywood merged and established a new factory in the state of Amazonas, focusing in the production of plywood.
The industrial plant in Caxias do Sul was acquired by the board of directors in 1998, and the company was then focused in the development of new products and applications for the civil construction industry, such as new technologies in the development of technical solutions and projects for the construction of buildings, tunnels, bridges, supermarkets and houses.
